Israeli Apartheid Week (March 8-17)

DECOLONIZE_THE_LANDIsraeli Apartheid Week Montreal | March 8-17, 2015
iawmontreal.org

Ten days of panels, workshops, film screenings, demonstrations and cultural events to raise awareness around the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaign against Israeli apartheid.

In opposition to apartheid and occupation
In solidarity with Palestinian resistance
In support of social justice struggles everywhere

This year marks the beginning of the second decade of Israeli Apartheid Week (IAW) in Montreal, joining with similar IAWs around the world. Our theme this year is resistance to colonialism and racism.

This year’s IAW-Montreal is organized in the aftermath of Israel’s brutal attack on Gaza last summer.  We are also hoping to build on this past fall’s BDS success by undergraduate students at Concordia University.

Confirmed speakers from outside Montreal: Ahmad Abuznaid (Dream Defenders, Miami) * Samia al-Botmeh (Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel) * Cherrell Brown (Justice League, New York) * Glen Coulthard (author of Red Skin, White Masks: Rejecting the Colonial Politics of Recognition) * Eran Efrati (Boycott from Within, Israel) * Suheir Hammad (poet/playright, Brooklyn) * Steven Salaita (author of Israel’s Dead Soul; United States Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel) * Maya Wind (Anarchists Against the Wall, Israel)
