Regularisation Programme for Undocumented Migrants: Webinar to Understand the Issues"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Webinar<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Thursday, November 10 at 11 AM<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Zoom : <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSde_AwLe3ovGcChTtAS7qlIRyEZPs56i622UqHDFYZjKp1C2A\/viewform?usp=sf_link\"><strong>to register, click here<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As the federal government plans a mass regularization programme for undocumented migrants in Canada, Solidarity Across Borders is holding a webinar to provide a better understanding of the issues involved.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Panelists:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>David Moffette,<\/strong> Associate Professor in the Department of Criminology at the University of Ottawa, who studies the impacts of immigration policies in Canada and Spain.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Annick Legault<\/strong>, President of the Migrant Justice Clinic (MJC), refugee rights lawyer for almost 20 years and research consultant for Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hady Anne,<\/strong> spokesperson for Solidarity Across Borders.\u00a0Solidarity Across Borders is a Montreal-based network of undocumented migrants and supporters who have worked together for status for all for more than 20 years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Samira Jasmin,<\/strong> undocumented activist<\/p>\n<p><strong>The webinar will address questions such as:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How do people become undocumented?<\/li>\n<li>How does this issue relate to Roxham Road?<\/li>\n<li>How have European countries managed regularization programmes in recent years?<\/li>\n<li>What is the difference between a regularization programme for undocumented migrants and a programme to give permanent residence to migrants with temporary status?<\/li>\n<li>Has Canada had regularization programmes in the past?<\/li>\n<li>Will this programme apply in Quebec?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Journalists are invited to join the webinar, listen to experts on the issues and pose their questions.
