I urge you to oppose and vote against the anti-refugee and anti-migrant Bill C-12, the “Strengthening Canada’s Immigration System and Borders Act.” This must be withdrawn.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Bill C-12 is an attack on migrants and will cause serious harm by:<\/p>\n
– Denying refugee protection to anyone in Canada over one year\u2014even if their home country becomes dangerous after arrival (affects everyone since June 2020)<\/p>\n
– Allowing mass deportations by giving officials power to cancel work permits, study permits, and permanent residency for entire groups without any oversight<\/p>\n
– Eliminating further rights for asylum seekers crossing from the US between official ports<\/p>\n
– Removing privacy safeguards by allowing unrestricted sharing of migrants’ personal information across all government levels<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The crisis is already here: Over 3,000 permits expire daily under current policies. Bill C-12 will make this exponentially worse.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
This isn’t border security\u2014it’s creating a cruel, violent, and racist mass deportation machine that will tear apart families and communities.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I am calling on you to do the right thing:<\/p>\n
– Oppose Bill C-12 and call for its withdrawal<\/p>\n
– Refuse the scapegoating of migrants for the housing and affordability crisis<\/p>\n
– An end to the Safe Third Country Agreement<\/p>\n
– A comprehensive, inclusive, and permanent regularization program<\/p>\n
