Canada now plans to send him back to Senegal, even though Amadou is denouncing and opposing the rise of arbitrary detentions, acts of police brutality, and repression under the current government, which led to the death of a student last February. Amadou fears suffering the same abuses if he is deported.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In 2025, Canada deported over 22,500 people, with CBSA boasting of a record number.
