\"\"Join us to mobilise against the deportation of Amadou* on 19 April, in less than two weeks.The Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB) recognized that Amadou was repeatedly arrested and tortured in his country of origin because of his involvement in a grassroots social movement challenging the government of Macky Sall, in power until 2024. Canada now plans to send him back to Senegal, even though Amadou is denouncing and opposing the rise of arbitrary detentions, acts of police brutality, and repression under the current government, which led to the death of a student last February. Amadou fears suffering the same abuses if he is deported.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2025, Canada deported over 22,500 people, with CBSA boasting of a record number. We must mobilize against Canada’s cruel and deadly immigration policies, which will worsen now that Bill C12 has entered into force and the Safe Third Country Agreement has been strengthened.<\/span><\/p>\n

Two acts of solidarity:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

– EMERGENCY RALLY<\/strong> : Join Amadou, his friends, and allied organizations on Saturday, April 11, at 11:00 a.m. at Parc metro station to show your support. Bring your friends and signs; let’s show our solidarity and our opposition to deportations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
