Community members in Scarborough and Halifax hand-delivered a letter and Amadou&#8217;s file to the riding offices of the Minister. On Thursday, Amadou\u2019s MP spoke to the offices of Ministers Diab and Anandasangaree but both refused to intervene. Amadou\u2019s deportation is still scheduled for 5pm tomorrow (Sunday, 19 April).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">On Friday, Amadou and members of SAB and FNDC intercepted the Mayor of Montreal as she left a public event. The Mayor listened and promised to help. Canada now plans to send him back to Senegal, even though Amadou is highly critical of the new government\u2019s use of arbitrary detention, police brutality, and repression, which led to the death of a student activist in February. Amadou fears suffering the same abuses if he is deported.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In 2025, Canada deported over 22,500 people, with CBSA boasting a record. It is more important than ever to take action against the normalization of deportation and Canada\u2019s cruel and deadly border policies, which are even worse now that Bill C12 has entered into force and the Safe Third Country Agreement has been strengthened.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Stop the Normalization of Deportation!
