Attacks on migrants are intensifying. Anti-migrant xenophobia and scapegoating of migrants have been normalised and implemented: C-12, end of PEQ, family sponsorship suspended, Safe Third Country Agreement expanded, social services cut, wait times for responses on immigration applications increasing to more than a decade … anti-migrant policies are multiplying at provincial, federal, continental and global levels. Borders are closing – leaving people stranded, families separated, locking members of our communities – neighbours, friends, colleagues, families – into situations of extreme exploitation and vulnerability.

On International Migrants’ Day, 18 December, Solidarity Across Borders is calling a popular assembly to propose a united front for everyone affected by the attacks, starting with weekly protests at 1010 St. Antoine, to demand Status for ALL, centering the immediate regularisation of undocumented migrants, and Open Borders.

The Canadian government divides migrants into categories – undocumented, temporary status workers or visitors, farm-workers, foreign students, refugees, in Canada, out of Canada, etc. We refuse their divisions! We unite, in all our diversity, as migrants confronting global apartheid, to demand an ongoing, permanent programme of full regularisation for all undocumented and precarious status migrants.

Status for ALL! Open the Borders! Together, we are strong!
